It's A Family Affair, March Break At Dundurn


Dundurn National Historic Site

Children, adults and grandparents are invited to Dundurn Castle to discover what it was like to live and play above stairs and work and live below stairs. Charades and gossip are some of the games you'll play as you tour the Castle. This year visitors will be treated to a variety of maple goodies made in the historic kitchen. Don't forget to visit the Hamilton Military Museum's Discovery Gallery and the children's activity centre at the Coach House.

The history of Dundurn National Historic Site is surprisingly varied. Evidence of hunting and gathering by Paleo-Indians on the land dates back 9000 years. During the past two-hundred years the land has been farmed, fortified and landscaped. It has been home to Hamilton's early settlers, soldiers, and politicians. Join us for a leisurely walking tour of the scenic grounds, get the dirt on archaeology and hear stories of war, ruins, scandals and sports!
